Muirhouse Farm is a dealer covering the South of Scotland, the Central Belt and North Northumberland for Sales of Biodiesel Kit. We obtain this kit from a partner company called Greenfuels Ltd, Europe’s largest biodiesel equipment supplier, who designs and manufactures a range of affordable biodiesel processing equipment that produces fuel for small-scale, domestic usage - right up to commercial production levels.
The advanced technology enables our customers to produce their own quality biodiesel cheaply and safely for use as a sustainable road transport fuel or other uses such as Custons tax free electrical generation for renewable power use.
There are currently more than 1250 Green Fuels processors in the UK and Ireland with a growing number in the rest of the world. Between them they produce more than 200 million litres of biodiesel every year.

There are two scales of production domestic and commercial  

In brief:-
Domestic this is a great way to fall below the duty threshold of just over 2000 litres and pay less for fuel. In order to do this you must own and operate your own kit and the three options: Fuel pod , fuel pod 2 and fuel pod 2 , 100 are here to help you go green and save over 54 p per litre against the full duty cost of taxes on fossil fuels, as you will also avoid VAT you can save more than 74p of the cost of a litre of fossil fuel … this huge margin saved makes biodiesel an economic domestic reality (below the threshold) We can help you make these savings and save the planet.

Commercial : We have our own plant and facilities and go from growing right through to biodiesel production. If you are interested in buying kit or need supplies of methanol or methelyt for biodiesel production you can register as a customer of ours and we will handle all supply issues for kit and raw product.
We firmly believe Business scale production of biofuels for SME businesses helps promote a companies green credentials in contract to polluting businesses who burn fossil fuels and any step towards this is a good one. Farm scale production is practical and in co operation with others or alone makes sense.

All companies have some vehicle use and probably employ people with the admittedly slight technical knowledge it takes to make biodiesel. We can make biodiesel stack up against fossil fuel but as a customs registered refinery you will be paying a discounted 34p per liter duty on every liter of fuel you make on your own site or farm to run your own vehicles and if you sell the fuel it will also be taxed normal VAT. 

This makes commercial production tight, commercially possible but tight. However if you are also doing it to help your business in other ways: i.e not contributing to wrecking the planet you can save a little bit , go green , sell a little bit sometimes and of course have fuel security for your own business ( after all your own deliveries to yourself are unlikely to be stopped by external strike action, plant closures, fuel duty blockades ) keep your business operating and go green.

Fuelpod 2

Safe Band technology heats the oil prior to mixing using a thermostatically controlled heater in an integral heating tank.

Safe Band technology heats the oil prior to mixing using a thermostatically controlled heater in an integral heating tank.

Now includes revised control panel for easier operation and improved flow rate. In addition the system now comes with a double size amberlite column (6L) and larger compressor (9cfm) for greater overall efficiency.
