About Us
Muirhouse Farm is a stock farm in the Scottish Borders raising a number of different species of Game, Cattle and Sheep. As a forward thinking and Eco friendly farm we have also diversified into a suite of offices and bio diesel production.
This website is a portal for clients interested in watching the progress of the farm, buying farm products, and who are also interested in bio diesel and the changes we as individuals and as small farms can make towards helping the reduction in global climate change.
Clearly we are very happy to tell you our story, but this is also a commercial operation so ideally we would like to sell you some of our products too.
We are passionate, and believe in what we are doing here. Not only in creating wildlife diversification on the property, such as in the wetland areas for both beauty and for the greater good, but also in using the resources around us to supply our own energy and food needs and creating/ maintaining some fuel and food production in the U.K.
In doing this we provide 15 different types of meat for our own table the surplus of which is advertised here.
We are developing a range of other farm products and have started using bio diesel produced on this farm and hope to be able to market and sell a quantity of vegetable oil for household use crushed from our own oilseed rape plants. We are also currently buying in and crushing locally grown seed in order to create bio diesel, which will be available soon.
We apologise in advance for those looking for fruit and vegetables however we hope you appreciate that we are a hill farm and there is a limit to what we can produce ourselves. Do not let this stop you sampeling the wonderful products we do have on offer!
